Beloved daytime TV star gives update on latest health diagnosis

Actress Suzanne Rogers delivered some good news recently about her health. Rogers, 82, best known for playing Maggie Horton on the daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” had recently revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer. However, she told People during a celebration of the show’s 60th anniversary that she was now in remission. “I’m feeling so much better. I mean, my summer was rough. I had cancer removed, radiation, that was tough. But I didn’t lose my hair. I guess I got it early,” she said. “I was stage two, and it was a certain kind of chemo that they gave me, it was pills and the radiation, and it didn’t affect it so that was good,” she continued. Rogers told the news outlet that her health scare has given her a new outlook on life. “I don’t worry about the small things. It’s not worth it. I was rushing here, and I went, ‘Wait a minute. You’re not going anywhere’,” she said. She also credited her family and priest with helping her get through her illness, and said that she’s slowly getting her energy back. “It’s about 70% right now,” she said. “I’m just basically letting things happen. I’m not making anything happen.”
