The Moy Park Belfast City Half Marathon returns this weekend so get your trainers at the ready. Thousands are expected to take on the 13.1 mile run across the city as the annual event returns to Belfast on Sunday, September 21. Whether running or supporting a loved one, half-marathon day in the city is sure to be an enjoyable one for everyone involved. If you are taking in any of the events, spectating or are just looking for a fun day out in Belfast, here are some of the key things you should know ahead of the Belfast City Half Marathon 2025. The event will be held on a Sunday, September 21. The Moy Park Belfast City Half Marathon is the biggest half-marathon event in Northern Ireland and has seen massive growth, selling out year on year. The race starts and finishes on Ormeau Embankment and covers the South, East, North, and West of Belfast. Motorists can expect some disruption throughout the morning of the event, although every attempt will be made to ensure that this is kept to a minimum. Organisers appreciate the inconvenience of traffic disruption but ask that the public please follow the traffic diversion signs. These are set up with participant safety and the safety of all road users as priorities to assist with traffic management in and around the event. You can check out the full list of road closures here For Sunday in Belfast, the Met Office has forecast light showers changing to sunny intervals by late morning. They have predicted highs of 14 C and lows of 6 C for September 21 in Belfast. Keep an eye on the forecast and prepare. If cold, pack a jumper/fleece to wear on race morning. The 2025 race, on September 21, will start on the Ormeau Embankment and take in the South, East, North and West of Belfast. The new route features a few small adjustments from last year’s course. Runners can familiarise themselves with the updated layout, while spectators can plan the best spots to catch the action and cheer on the participants.
