Belal Muhammad recently shared his two cents on the Leon Edwards vs. Carlos Prates fight at UFC 322 and outlined why 'Rocky' was in a uniquely tough spot. Muhammad pointed out that Edwards was on a two-fight skid and explained how important it was for him to get back into the win column.Edwards is coming off a fourth-round submission loss against Sean Brady at UFC London in March. Before that, he lost the welterweight title to Muhammad via unanimous decision at UFC 304 last July. Meanwhile, Prates is coming off a first-round KO win over Geoff Neal at UFC 319 in August, bouncing back after his unanimous decision loss against Ian Machado Garry at UFC Kansas City earlier in April.Given Edwards' current situation, Muhammad believes the Englishman needs to get a win if he wants another shot at the title in the future. In a video posted to his YouTube channel, he said:"Leon, coming off of two losses in a row, is in a very tough spot. You never want to be in a spot where you're on two losses in a row because we're going to see how bad he wants it. You don't get any easier fights when you're the champ... Every fight after that is still one shot, one win away from getting to a title fight."Backing Prates to ultimately emerge victorious, he continued:"I'm picking Prates. I think he'll be able to use his length, he'll be able to use Leon going backwards, hurt him going backwards, and make him uncomfortable going backwards. So if I'm Prates, keep him on the fence, keep him going backwards, and I think you can win this fight." The Irishman also claimed that Edwards should be "retired" and downplayed the Englishman's chances against the Brazilian.In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Garry predicted Prates will "starch" Edwards on Nov. 16 and said:"I think he's going to absolutely starch Leon. I've been saying this for a long time. [Edwards] should be retired, and we might see that. I'm shocked he took the fight in the first place.
