Long before legendary football coach Bill Belichick sparked a romance with Jordon Hudson, his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday was the woman by his side.
Belichick, 73, and Holliday, 62, announced their breakup in September 2023 after 16 years of dating — but a source exclusively told Us Weekly there’s a lot more to the story.
Prior to their separation, Belichick and Holliday’s relationship was “incredibly rocky,” according to the insider. The then-head coach of the NFL’s New England Patriots “was already looking for an exit ramp” when the COVID-10 pandemic hit in 2020.
Prior to meeting Belichick, Holliday had already been married three times.
“Bill never wanted to be Linda Holliday’s fourth husband,” the source revealed. “Marriage was never on the table for them.”
Despite the fracture in their relationship, Holliday “pretended to be [Belichick’s] girlfriend from September 2022 until September 2023. Bill went along with it to appease her.”
During that time, Belichick lived in the Hilton hotel next to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the home of the Patriots.
While they were privately separated, the source said Holliday would still obtain “exclusive memberships with his name.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Belichick and Holliday for comment.
Belichick met his now-girlfriend Hudson, 24, on a plane in 2021, when the football coach famously signed Hudson’s copy of Deductive Logic.
The pair were first seen in public multiple times together throughout 2023 before publicly confirming their relationship in October 2024. Belichick was named the new head football coach at the University of North Carolina in December 2024.
Given the trajectory of her relationship with Belichick, the source said Hudson “thinks Linda is selfish for lying about the breakup timeline because it reflected poorly on Jordon.”
Hudson and Holliday came face-to-face during a tense encounter at a Nantucket holiday party in December 2024.
According to an incident report obtained by TMZ Sports in May, Hudson was asked to leave the party — which was being DJ’d by Holliday’s daughters, Ashley and Kat Hess (a.k.a. The Hess Twins) — after an alleged confrontation on the dance floor.
“Ms. Holliday felt [Hudson’s] presence was inappropriate, since the event was widely advertised as a party headlined by her daughters,” the report reads in part.
After Hudson was asked to leave, Holliday and her friends were seen on security cameras using “threatening body language and escalating aggression” toward Hudson on the party’s dance floor.
Despite Hudson arguing she had done “nothing wrong,” she eventually agreed to leave the venue with seven minutes remaining in the party.
