Bedazzled Prayer Circle for Dolly

You know it’s serious when even Jolene is bringing over a bouquet of flowers. Dolly Parton has postponed her upcoming Las Vegas residency due to “some health challenges” that require immediate attention. “My doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” she wrote on social media. “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see and the show that you deserve.” Parton, whose husband of almost six decades, Carl Dean, recently died at the age of 82, says she’ll continue to work out of her home in Nashville for the time being — and stressed that this was only a temporary setback for what she envisions as her future career. “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she explained. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures in life.” One of those adventures is a jukebox musical about Parton’s life, which she plans to open on Broadway in 2026. And, of course, continuing her reign as the monarch of Dollywood.
