This weekend really does offer something for everyone:
Celebrate the fall season with apples
It’s the first Saturday of fall, which means it’s time for Apple Festival at Historic Bethabara Park in Winston-Salem. Apples are a big deal around here because when the Moravians arrived in 1753, they immediately started planting six apple trees for every person, from seeds they brought from Europe. The Apple Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and includes artists and artisans, regional musicians including the Chatham Rabbits at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Colonial games, face painting, and events involving apples. It’s free, with charges for food and crafts. cityofws.org/2084/Apple-Fest. 2147 Bethabara Road, Winston-Salem.
Bounce houses for everybody
The Big Bounce America 2025 tour— with seven massive inflatable bounce attractions for the whole family — is headed to Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, Friday through Sunday. Featuring the 24,000-square-foot “World’s Largest Bounce House,” this is the biggest touring inflatable event in the world. Included is a 900-foot-long obstacle course called The Giant; the customized sports arena Sport Slam; the three-piece, space-themed wonderland airSPACE; and the newly added intergalactic adventure dubbed City Xscape. Sessions available for toddlers, children ages 7 and under, children ages 15 and under, and folks 16 and up. Tickets are $22 for the toddler session and $35 for everybody else and can be purchased in advanced. Organizers say the event is a regular sellout. A night out for fashionists, big hearts
High Point Fashion’s Night Out returns at 5 p.m. on Saturday at The Loft on Longdon Yards, 400 W. English Road. It’s for the fashionistas but also anyone who wants to support the Junior League of High Point’s focus this year on reducing health disparities for women and children in High Point and the surrounding areas. Oh, and it’s also for anyone who might enjoy craft cocktails, a silent auction and a diamond raffle sponsored by Simon Jewelers. The group’s signature fall event also spotlights local businesses.
