Beautiful little girl, 1, is orphaned after mom, 35, shot dead by boyfriend in quiet Massachusetts town murder-suicide

A one-year-old girl has been orphaned after her father shot dead her devoted mom and their upstairs relative in a horrific murder-suicide.

Madeline Minasvand is set to be raised by her aunt after her father David Minasvand, 31, shot and killed her mom Karine Asatryan, 35, and Nadia Abrahamian, 80, in their home in Watertown, Massachusetts on August 31 before turning the gun on himself.

Minasvand and Asatryan lived together in the downstairs of the home and Abrahamian lived upstairs.

In a heartbreaking GoFundMe set up by Madeline’s aunt, Asatryan’s loved ones said that ‘becoming a mother filled her with immense joy and purpose.’

‘She embraced motherhood with her whole heart, pouring all her love and hopes into her daughter’s future. Tragically, Madeline has now lost both of her parents.’

Asatryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, and according to her obituary she was the first of her family to move to the United States, where she ‘as a caregiver for the family she lived with.’

It is unclear which other people lived in the home where the shooting unfolded, and officials said the three deceased were the only ones present in the home at the time of their deaths.

Abrahamian knew Minasvand and Asatryan as part of a ‘blended Armenian family’, according to an obituary for Abrahamian’s late husband Sarkis who died just a month before.

Madeline’s parents helped care for Nadia before Minasvand shot them both dead, with investigators yet to share a motive for the tragic slayings.

Asatryan’s sister, Meline, set up a fundraiser to help her daughter Madeline after the one-year-old was orphaned by the shootings.

In the fundraiser, which has raised over $40,000 at the time of writing, Meline said that her sister ’embraced motherhood with her whole heart, pouring all her love and hopes into her daughter’s future.’

‘Tragically, Madeline has now lost both of her parents,’ she wrote.

In an obituary for Asatryan, her loved ones said she ‘lived a full life and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.’

‘Karine was a deeply loving mother, sister, daughter, and niece. She was especially devoted to her beloved daughter, Madeline, whom she loved with all her heart and soul,’ they wrote.

The tribute described Asatryan as a ‘bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her’, and said her ‘warmth, kindness, and boundless compassion left a lasting impact, and her absence is deeply felt by all who loved her.’

Donations would go toward ‘baby supplies, medical care, childcare, and future education,’ for the orphaned infant, Asatryan’s sister wrote.

Meline said she would now care for Madeline, and was ‘stepping into this role with courage, tenderness, and unwavering devotion.’

‘Any contribution — whether through a donation or by sharing this page — means the world. Thank you for helping us support Madeline and carry Karine’s legacy forward with love.
