Bears Legend Shuts Down Wild Trade Idea for Dynamic Wide Receiver

The Chicago Bears are a bit of a conundrum. While the team sits at 4-3, there have been questions regarding the team’s ability to compete in the NFC. That said, there are trade rumors surrounding the team involving a dynamic wide receiver that have been shut down by a Bears legend. Despite the loss, the season is far from over, but it does not mean that the Chicago front office isn’t thinking about some big trade moves ahead of the deadline. In fact, one move that many analysts keep bringing up is whether the Bears should trade dynamic receiver DJ Moore. Moore might fetch some good draft capital, but trading him would be a bit strange as Caleb Williams and the offense need all the help they can get. One Bears legend thinks trading Moore would be a mistake. Former center Olin Kreutz joined “The Kay Adams Show” to discuss the rumors on Moore, and why he should not be part of trade talks. Should the Bears make a DJ Moore trade?@olin_kreutz | @heykayadams pic.twitter.com/cFMprXFCKV— Up & Adams (@UpAndAdamsShow) October 30, 2025 When Kay Adams asks Kreutz if he has heard the rumors about Moore, and if the Bears should consider moving him to a wide receiver-needy team, the former offensive lineman balked at the idea. “I hear it, and I don’t really think they should. I really like DJ Moore, and I like his game … he gets critical yards. They don’t just make guys like this everywhere. If you decide to move on from him and move on to Luther Burden, you can see why they would do it … they put so many assets into this room, including drafting Colston Loveland,” Kreutz said. Keenan Allen #13 of the Chicago Bears talks with DJ Moore #2 and Rome Odunze #15 prior to the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the Houston Texans at Tom Benson Hall Of Fame Stadium on August 01, 2024 in Canton, Ohio. More news: NFL Insider Predicts Three Teams Will Make Big Splash at Trade Deadline Kreutz has a huge point in that the receiving room for the Bears is plenty stacked. Burden is starting to find his footing in his rookie season, as is Loveland. However, Moore is a strong dual-threat weapon that catches, runs, and blocks. Kreutz also mentioned that Williams needs as many weapons as he can get right now, which is also a big point. After multiple questions regarding the offense struggling through training camp and the beginning of the 2025 season, the team is starting to mesh better. As stated, they pulled off four straight wins before falling to the Ravens in Week 8. The Bears need to figure out a way to incorporate all their best receivers in a cohesive plan each week if they want to catch the other upper-echelon teams in the NFC. Getting rid of Moore would only damage those chances. He currently has 331 yards and one touchdown passing, and has also picked up 37 yards rushing. If the Bears were to trade anyone, it might be someone like Devin Duvernay, who is a far more expendable veteran. The trade deadline is set for Nov. 4, and anything can happen. If a team offers a huge haul for Moore, the Bears’ front office might not be able to say no. For more on the Bears, head to Newsweek Sports.
