Despite winning four straight games, the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams have more work to do to silence their critics. On Sunday, they’ll face a Baltimore Ravens team that many thought would be playing at a much higher level than they currently are. Much of that is due to injuries, including the sidelining of their star quarterback, Lamar Jackson, for a significant stretch of games. On the other side, Williams has remained healthy, but hasn’t necessarily played up to the level of hype he received as a No. 1 pick out of USC for the Bears. At least one former Super Bowl winner believes today is a day the Bears can prove themselves further, suggesting it’s a necessary win to keep Chicago’s season on track. Charles Woodson appeared on part of Fox’s NFL pregame shows, alongside his co-stars Charissa Thompson and Julian Edelman. When asked which team needed to win more to prove themselves, Woodson didn’t hesitate to say it’s the Bears. Nobody seems to like what Caleb Williams is doing despite the four-game win streak,” Woodson said, adding, “They don’t think the coach believes in him.” CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – OCTOBER 19: Caleb Williams #18 of the Chicago Bears walks off the field after defeating the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field on October 19, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. Woodson continued by saying that the Ravens are a bad football team at this point in the season, given their dismal offense and defense. “For the Bears, no Lamar Jackson. If I ever played in a game and it’s the Patriots and there’s no Tom Brady, or it’s the Chiefs and there’s no Patrick Mahomes, we’re gonna win this game,” Woodson said, with Edelman agreeing. He then delivered a serious message to the Williams and the Bears, saying, “You’re supposed to win this game. You’re supposed to go down to Baltimore. They don’t have their best player. They’re not good on defense. You gotta go out there and put up and shut up and win a game that you are supposed to win.” "No Lamar Jackson. If I ever played in a game and we're playing against the Patriots and there's no Tom Brady…you're supposed to win this game."@CharlesWoodson on how the Bears have to win their game against the Ravens today ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/fLGoNaiUgc— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) October 26, 2025 The Super Bowl winner contended that with a five-game winning streak, maybe people will start believing more in this Bears team. However, a loss would be devastating for the team, especially with the situation the Ravens currently face. Two of Chicago’s four wins have come in late-game situations against the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders, either by blocking the opponents’ field goal attempt or nailing one after a big defensive play. Additional victories came over the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys. On Sunday, they’ll face the Ravens’ backup, Tyler Huntley, and, as Woodson suggested, this is definitely a necessary win. It would keep Ben Johnson and the Bears rolling towards a potential playoff appearance, which would certainly be a welcome sight for Chicago fans.
