Be “Greek for the week” at the 38th Annual Greek Festival

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Columbia’s beloved Greek Festival has returned, bringing the sights, sounds, and flavors of Greece to the Midlands. From authentic Greek food and pastries to traditional dancing and cultural tours, the event is a celebration of family, community, and heritage.
For many in Columbia’s Greek community, the dances are more than just performances, they’re a way of “coming home” and honoring tradition. The festival is also a feast for the senses. Guests can sample dishes like lamb, souvlaki, shrimp, and their famous spanakopita- a savory spinach pie made with fresh phyllo. Dozens of fan-favorite pastries will also be available.
Nicoletta, who has been a part of the festival since it began 38 years ago, says the event is about more than just food. She calls it a labor of love where culture is shared and everyone is invited. Each year, the festival also gives back to the Columbia community donating tens of thousands of dollars to local charities.
The Greek Festival runs all weekend in downtown Columbia. For more details, visit columbiasgreekfestival.com .
