BBC confirms start date and shares chilling trailer for new drama Wild Cherry

The BBC has unveiled a sneak peek at eagerly-anticipated new drama Wild Cherry . The six-part coming-of-age drama - which was penned by Nicôle Lecky - is set in the town of Richford Lake, where life looks great for super-mum Juliet (Eve Best) and business mogul Lorna ( Carmen Ejogo ). However, it soon transpires that "danger and betrayal" lurk below the surface of their perfect-looking lives. Things start to change thanks to their daughters Grace (Imogen Faires) and Allegra (Amelia May), who become embroiled in a shocking scandal at their exclusive school which a synopsis says leaves "toxic secrets and lies" rippling throughout the community. The mums are and forced to take sides, which ends up pushing their friendship to breaking point. The new teaser for the mystery thriller shows the families enjoying their pampered lives in their picture perfect home, but the voiceover warns: "In this town, they had wonderful lives. "It was a world of privilege for all of them. But in Richford Lake, everyone was hiding something." The teens are seen whispering about their "secret messaging app" and in one scene there is a reference to a child having disappeared. The trailer ends with the person narrating saying: "Nobody knew what they were capable of until it was too late." Other cast members include Sophie Winkleman, Daniel Lapaine, Hayat Kamille, Isabelle Allen, James Murray, Jason York and Katarina Cas, and Nicôle Lecky also has a part. She also serves as executive producer on the upcoming series, which was filmed in Surrey. Speaking when the cast of the series was announced, she said: “Getting to work with Carmen and Eve is such a dream, and they have brought Wild Cherry to life in the most special way. "Wild Cherry has a brilliant ensemble cast of characters (also led by Amelia and Imogen who are wonderful) and I cannot wait for audiences to meet our Richford Lake residents.” Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama added: "This is a hugely entertaining drama with multi-generational appeal, and I can't wait for viewers to become enraptured by the events in Richford Lake." All episodes of Wild Cherry will be available to watch on Saturday, November 15 on BBC iPlayer from 6am and episodes one and two will premiere on BBC One from 9pm
