BBC Celebrity Traitors fans fume over 'stupid' task as they spot major issue

Viewers of The Celebrity Traitors were left fuming over an "unfair" challenge during Wednesday night's episode, after noticing a potential issue. Claudia Winkleman's murder mystery gameshow has quickly become a fan favourite as she returned to Ardross Castle with a fresh group of Faithfuls and Traitors. The star-studded cast includes Jonathan Ross , Sir Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Cat Burns , Charlotte Church, Paloma Faith, Kate Garraway , and Nick Mohammed. With only two episodes remaining, there have been plenty of memorable moments, such as Celia Imrie's unexpected fart during a challenge and Paloma Faith lying in a coffin after being 'murdered' in broad daylight. In the latest episode, Jonathan Ross was the first Traitor to be ousted, leaving with a memorable parting shot: "I am now, and I have been all through the game completely faithful... to the Traitors!" Suspicion may now fall on the remaining Traitors, Alan and Cat, particularly as they're due to 'murder' again in full view using the ominous phrase "Parting is such sweet sorrow", reports Wales Online . Among the remaining Faithfuls, including Joe Marler, David Olusoga, Kate, Nick, and Celia, one has immunity from 'murder' after securing a shield in a previous challenge. However, fans are crying foul, labelling it a "fix" and "unfair". The contestants were challenged to cross a shaky bridge high above a ravine in a bid to win funds for their chosen charities and potentially earn a shield. After Alan shrieked his way through, exclaiming, "My testicles, I feel like a winner and a eunuch," Cat conquered her fear with a few screams, and Joe unveiled a new dance move as he navigated his way across. Each contestant waiting at the other end had the chance to place one player's frame on a shield, sparing them from elimination. Alan went first, with his partner Kate choosing him to save, before Celia saved her partner Cat, Jonathan followed suit by saving Nick, and then David saved Joe. But fans spotted an issue with this, noting that whoever went last would have been the one saved just because it had to be done in order. One wrote: "Bit unfair that the last people get the shield." Another said: "Bit unfair this challenge isn't it as whoever crosses the bridge last will get the shield.. Pointless." Someone else fumed: "Fix! why they letting joe get the shield." Another echoed: "I wonder whether it was fixed that Joe would have the last walk across the bridge in order to get the shield." Agreeing, one viewer wrote: "Joe totally fixed getting the shield, knowing all the bridge walkers before him got it. Otherwise, he would never have volunteered." Another said: "Funny that Joe is doing the last walk across the bridge and won the shield. When he would have been voted out tonight." "So the shield thing is just stupid then," someone else wrote. "Can they stop just giving the shield to whoever crosses the bridge," another said. One person echoed: "The only shield choice that matters is the last one so that whole crossing was irrelevant apart from the money." Ahead of the series airing, Joe admitted: "I'm here to win it. As much as I love the show, I'm not here to just be like, what a great experience. I might think that after, grateful to have played whatever part I had in it. But as soon as that game begins, my game face is on." The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
