Pinconning put up an aggressive fight but couldn’t stand toe-to-toe with Beaverton, which claimed a 25-17, 25-20, 25-12 victory in the Jack Pine Conference match.
“The scores didn’t reflect the effort the girls put in,” Pinconning coach Annie Powers said. “I was really happy with our offense. They took some good, hard swings, played smart and found holes when needed.”
Pinconning (6-15-3, 1-5) got a nine-dig, 18-assist performance from setter Layla Foco. Emma McQuarter notched 16 digs and Liz VanHorn 12 to front the defensive effort. Kailee Rugenstein slammed seven hills and Abby Grzegorczyk four to lead the attack.
