Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the 2024 Director of Communications for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia Campaign, has declared that the former Vice President is the clear frontrunner in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) pending presidential primary.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Afternoon Ghana on September 19, 2025, Aboagye expressed confidence that Dr Bawumia stands ‘head and shoulders’ above all other contenders ahead of the primaries, scheduled for January 31, 2026.
“When it comes to the NPP internal primaries, if we’re to find X, the probability that Dr Bawumia will win is higher than all other candidates,” he said.

Aboagye pointed to Dr Bawumia’s proven track record, leadership qualities, and experience as factors driving his momentum, stressing that both grassroots supporters and party elites were rallying behind him.
“Amongst the flagbearer contenders of the NPP, Dr Bawumia gives us the fastest and best path to victory in 2028. He is the most prepared, the most formidable, and the most winnable of all,” he stated.
Highlighting Dr Bawumia’s long service to the party, Aboagye noted; “He is the only one that has been at the forefront of our party at the highest level for the past 16 years. For five elections, he has been at the frontline, four as a running mate and the most recent as a presidential candidate. He knows the journey, he has traveled the path, and he is ready to lead without learning on the job.”
