Battlefield 6 Battle Royale and Multiplayer Have the Same Destruction System

Battlefield 6 developers have confirmed that the same destruction systems are used for battle royale and multiplayer modes.

Players have already witnessed the game’s multiplayer mode in action, and since BF6 battle royale has been revealed, many are eager to learn more about this game mode. However, apart from leaks, we have yet to receive concrete information about it. Fortunately for the players, the developers have expanded on BF6 battle royale’s destructive system.

Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Destruction Will Leave Designed Aftermath Rubble Similar to Multiplayer

Spotted by GamesRadar+, Battlefield producer David Sirland has elaborated on the destruction system in Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode through a reply on X (formerly Twitter). Sirland explained that both battle royale and multiplayer have the “same systems”, leaving “designed aftermath rubble” in the process. The producer added that the level of destruction depends on the type of houses and materials.

Sirland added that “just destroying everything isn’t a good idea”, they have learned this already while developing Battlefield 6. Moreover, destroying everything is easier; what the dev team is doing with the tactical destruction is “much harder to get readable, and playing great.”

The Battlefield 6 producer also spoke about the destruction balance, stating that it is “set per material and type of damage, explosions differ from kinetic etc.” The developers have already fine-tuned things since the open beta; they aim to maintain consistency “for it to occur in regular play”, while keeping each game unique and not destroying everything.

In other news, the developers have confirmed that Battlefield 6 features a console-only crossplay mode. Additionally, Battlefield 6’s class system has “moved beyond” what we saw in the open beta.
