The Battlefield 6 Season 1 content update is live, and with it, the battle pass has dropped. Those of you who care about weapon platforms, skins, and other rewards have plenty to work through for the game. However, there are a lot of things to come with it. Here's what to expect for the Battlefield 6 Battle Pass for Season 1. How the Battle Pass Works Battlefield 6's Battle Pass breaks from traditional linear systems with a branching four-path structure. Players begin with a five-tier Recruit Path that unlocks four distinct progression tracks, each containing 22 tiers of rewards. The four paths are Rogue Operations, Deniable Operations, Soldiers of Fortune, and Pacific Ghosts. Players choose which path to progress using Battle Pass Points, with each point unlocking one tier. Paths can be completed in any order. So, make sure to check out the rewards in these sections before committing to which one you want to unlock first. There tend to be different weapon skins or platforms, or some other goodies you might want from them. After finishing all four main paths, two mastery tracks unlock. There is the Ultimate version, with 7 tiers, and Prestige with 10 tiers. Later in Season 1, there will be two additional seasonal paths, one named California Resistance and the other Ice Lock, tying in with the season 1 roadmap major patches. These release mid-season on November 18 and December 9, respectively, each available for limited periods. So, it's sort of gate keeping the full pass from you, while also telling you too have a break at the same time. It's a half full half empty type situation. Each path features themed rewards, including new weapons, soldier skins, vehicle customization, and player profile items. Free tiers include all functional content like weapons, while premium tiers offer exclusive cosmetics and characters. Battle Pass Pro and Price The Premium Battle Pass costs 1,000 BFC (Battlefield Currency) and grants access to all 100+ tiers of content. It includes instant unlock rewards, a 10% Battle Pass progression boost, and remains available from October 28 through the end of Season 1. No purchase is required to access free tiers, which include all functional weapons added to the season. Some weapon platforms are locked to other tiers of the pass, though. Battlefield Pro costs $24.99 or equivalent store currency and includes all Premium Battle Pass benefits plus significant additions. Pro members receive 25 tier skips immediately, a 15% Battle Pass progression boost (replacing Premium's 10%), and six exclusive instant unlock items including soldiers, weapons, and skins. Additional Pro features include a five-step Challenge Assignment with unique rewards, a limited-time 10-reward Bonus Path releasing later in Season 1, an exclusive vehicle radio station with the BF6 Soundtrack playable, 100-player persistent server hosting, and extra challenge rerolls. The Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition ($99.99) includes one BF Pro token to help skip some of the grind. XP and Challenge Progression Battle Pass Points drive progression through two methods: Weekly Challenges and Career XP earned from gameplay. Each Battle Pass Point unlocks one tier on the player's chosen path. Premium Battle Pass owners receive a 10% Global XP Boost affecting Career XP, Hardware XP, and Battle XP throughout Season 1. Battlefield Pro upgrades this to 15%, though the two boosts don't stack. Timed XP boosts (30-minute and 60-minute varieties) can stack with global boosts and appear as rewards throughout Battle Pass tiers, accelerating overall progression. If there's a challenge you can do for the pass, go for it. But, if you don't like challenges, simply grind multiplayer or the new REDSEC battle royale mode as you would normally play. The challenges will take place in both multiplayer and REDSEC, so keep that in mind, depending on how you like to play the game. Ignore them if you want to, but you will progress faster. These challenges and grind likely explain why Battlefield 6 killed the XP farms in Portal mode. That was how many progressed through the Road to BF6 battle pass on BF2042 after all.
