All things spooky Baton Rouge Oktoberfest: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Live Oak at Cedar Lodge, 6300 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge The Louisiana Restaurant Association is hosting its fourth annual Oktoberfest, which will feature beer and food tastings, a commemorative pint glass, live entertainment, games, a stein-holding contest and costume contest. Some of the participating restaurants include Solera, Parc 73 and Cecelia Creole Bistro. Tickets are $50, available for purchase at eventbrite.com. Terror on the Courts: 5 p.m. Oct. 29, at Court to Table, 7477 Burbank Drive, Baton Rouge Head to Court to Table for a haunted pickleball tournament, costume contest, haunted cornhole, pumpkin paddle painting and more. Halloween bar crawl: 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 1, downtown Baton Rouge Celebrate Halloween with a bar crawl featuring cocktails, costumes, drink deals, entertainment and more. Some of the venues are George's Place, Somewhere Neighborhood Bar, Dark 30 and The Vintage. Tickets start at $20, which include two to three drinks, no cover, party cups, food specials at select venues, admission to an after-party and more. The morning will be filled with live music from John Gray Jazz, live cooking demonstrations and a cash bar from Cocha. Learn something new Demonstration and sampling: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Rouses Market, 5909 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge An LSU AgCenter agent will be at Rouses to teach customers how to prepare Pumpkin Fluff Dip, which comes together in minutes. The demonstration will end in a sampling of the dip. Cooking demo: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Cancer Services, 550 Lobdell Ave., Baton Rouge Join Cancer Services for a hands-on cooking demonstration designed to help people learn how to prepare easy, nutritious meals that support wellness during and after treatment. Participants will learn how to create supplement drinks that help manage nausea or loss of appetite and gain tips on reading food labels. The featured recipes are stuffed bell peppers with vegetables, turkey and rice, and an orange cream shake. Mark your calendar Food and wine pairing: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 22 at Red Stick Spice Company, 660 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge Red Stick Spice Company and Martin's Wine and Spirits are partnering to offer a hands-on cooking class with wine pairings. Participants will learn about wine, food and how they pair to create a flavor experience. The menu includes oyster mushroom pinxto paired with Colome Torrontes, hot shrimp remoulade paired with Arca Nova Vinho Verde rosé and more.
