Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal is reportedly suffering from Pubalgia, an injury Lionel Messi suffered from in his career. The teenager has been dealing with the issue this season and was spotted in pain during the 2-1 loss to Real Madrid last month.According to a report in SPORT, Barcelona hierarchy believes Yamal's issue is incurable and the pain is set to be chronic. The injury is reportedly common among footballers because the muscles converge in the groin, causing discomfort.A former Barcelona physio has reported that the pain could be age-related, and he will need to work on it to continue playing at the top level. The physio was quoted as saying:"We can say that there are multiple factors that cause this pain in the pubis. This can be caused by their growth stage, in which their body statics have changed and there have been muscles that have suffered as they grow. We will have to live with it and we will have to do preventive and compensatory work to give it guarantees to be able to play at the highest level."Six years ago, Messi spoke about pubalgia while talking to Buenos Aires radio station Club 94.7 and said:"Pubalgia is complicated. I suffer from it for a while now, I do little training and I can not play all the games. It is not a problem that can be solved overnight. I feel better now, but I still have not recovered and I still need treatment."Pubalgia, also called 'sports hernia,' causes an imbalance in the muscles, leading to groin and abdominal pain. Lionel Messi continued to play with the condition, giving Yamal a boost that it would not hinder his career.Lionel Messi reportedly angry with Barcelona president Joan LaportaInter Miami captain Lionel Messi and his family are reportedly angry with Barcelona president Joan Laporta over issues dating back to 2021. Last month, he club's former vice-president, Jordi Mestre, told Sport360:“I’ve been told by third parties that Leo Messi and his family are very, very, very angry with Laporta. Very angry. Whatever we do for Leo will never be enough. What he gave us is incredible, not only on a sporting level. Financially, the tours with him were one thing — without him, completely another.”Lionel Messi wanted to return to Barcelona in 2023, but the club failed to sort out their financial issues, and the Argentine had to move elsewhere. He joined Inter Miami, where he has now renewed his contract until 2028.
