Barcelona's Rashford Eyes Permanent Move Away From Manchester United: 'For Sure'

Marcus Rashford has hit the reset button on his career. After being sidelined at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag and a loan spell at Aston Villa, the 27-year-old now looks fully at home at Barcelona, where he’s thriving and hoping for a permanent move. “For sure,” Rashford told ESPN when asked if he wants to stay in Spain. “I’m enjoying this football club, and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player, it is an honour.” Career Revival Under Emery, Flick Rashford’s journey back to form began at Aston Villa, where Unai Emery helped him rediscover his confidence. That momentum has carried over to Spain, with Rashford scoring five goals in 12 appearances, including a Champions League double against Olympiakos. “People forget this, but 23 years of my life was with Manchester United. So sometimes you just need a change. I think maybe this is the case with me, and I’m enjoying everything,” Rashford said. Amorim’s Stance Ruben Amorim, reflecting on the era of Erik ten Hag, emphasized that some players simply weren’t in the right environment at Manchester United. Rashford was among them, along with Rasmus Hojlund and Antony. “I am happy for all the players who deserve to be happy. Sometimes, a place is not for you, and you go somewhere where you are happier, that’s natural. I have no personal problem with them. I have been a player, so I know how they suffer and think, so I am glad that they have found a place where they are happy,” Amorim said. Looking Ahead Rashford is now focused on cementing his place at Barcelona and preparing for his first El Clasico against Real Madrid this weekend.
