Barcamp Kumasi 2025 provides a space for collaboration, action, network growth for youth right here in Kumasi and beyond

With a focus on “Impact | Innovation | Quality,” Barcamp Kumasi 2025 is happening on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at hapaSpace, Danyame, Kumasi. This dynamic, free networking forum, organized by the GhanaThink Foundation, will serve as a vital platform for Kumasi’s brightest minds, entrepreneurs, and innovators to connect and collaborate. This day-long forum (9am-4pm) is designed to inspire action and showcase the entrepreneurial talent within the Ashanti region through learning, sharing, networking and mentoring. hapaSpace is more than just a venue; it serves as the physical epicenter for Kumasi’s burgeoning tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem. As a leading digital innovation hub, it provides year-round co-working space, incubation, and critical support to the same community of changemakers, startups, and young professionals that Barcamp Kumasi continues to build, making it the natural home for this powerful day of networking and collaboration. hapaSpace & its sister companies, including HWS Technologies, have been partnering Barcamp Kumasi, especially since its birth, post hapaWeb. In an interview with Y 102.5 FM, Ato Ulzen-Appiah (Director of the GhanaThink Foundation) mentioned: We have organized some Komseko training workshops for social entrepreneurs and Konnect meetups at hapaSpace in the past. It is exciting to see its growth to be able to host a Barcamp in Kumasi!” Obeng Emmanuel Agyemang recounts his Barcamp experiences. “My journey with Barcamp (Ghana) has been a truly transformative one. It all started back in 2016 when I attended my very first event. I was new, eager, and perhaps a little unsure. The pivotal moment for me was the mentor session, where I had a heartfelt conversation about crafting a strong CV and the art of public speaking”. In 2024, he had the privilege of serving as the Logistics Lead for Barcamp Kumasi. In 2025, he stepped into the role of Team Lead & Coordinator. He stated: “I’m still very much in the learning process, but when I look back, I can see how much I’ve improved both professionally and personally, thanks to this community”. BarCamp Kumasi 2025 is organized with the support of partners. The confirmed partners are The Luckiest Africa, Achieve by Petra, HWS Technologies, hapaSpace, Africa’s Talking, Clean Air Fund, Maya Fabrics, Icon Studios, Ambigain, Akoma 87.9 FM, Quama Food, Y 102.5 FM, MultiPro, etc. Some of the partners would be running a number of breakout sessions on various topics – #CleanAirGhana solutions, investments, training programs, etc. Emmanuel Billa participated in his first Barcamp in Cape Coast while a student at UCC. In 2025, he is leading the Resources team for Barcamp Kumasi. They scout for resource persons and mentors who could share their expertise and inspire participants. Barcamps feature speed mentoring sessions where mentors from diverse industries will give insights and answers to questions from participants. These mentors are REAL people thriving in their careers. REAL stands for Resourceful, Experienced and Accomplished with a proven record of great Leadership skills and impact. Emmanuel espoused: “Barcamps have always been a great avenue for me to learn, grow, and draw inspiration. It’s truly refreshing to meet other young people who are making meaningful strides in their personal pursuits and contributing to their communities”. Irene Ali Dery was once in Emmanuel Billa’s shoes, and has been guiding him and others as the Barcamp Ghana Resources Lead for many years now. She stated: “After every Barcamp, I have walked away with far more than business cards and social media connections; I have consistently left with a renewed drive to use my expertise to make real impact. The engagement with other professionals and the overall experience have sharpened my communication skills and expanded my professional network”. Ghana Think Foundation is an organization based both in Ghana and the USA, which has successfully organized 120+ BarCamps in Ghana. The first Barcamp Kumasi in 2010 was at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Engineering Department. It was themed “Collaboration: The key for opportunity and development”. These networking forums in the city affectionately called Oseikrom have impacted thousands of youth, while building a network of changemakers, doers and entrepreneurs. Noah Alorwu has been leading the marketing of Barcamp Kumasi for many years now since he was a student of Kumasi Polytechnic (now Kumasi Technical University). He mentioned: “There’s nothing quite like the vibe at Barcamp Kumasi — it gets better every year! The energy, the ideas, and the people are always inspiring. Barcamp Kumasi 2025 will keep that fire burning, bringing together passionate young minds to connect, create, and make things happen across the Ashanti Region and beyond”. You never know which conversation might be the one that changes your trajectory, just as it did for me. I can’t wait to see you all there and be a part of your stories”.
