Band get up to perform at pub – then people realise they're huge rockstars

A legendary band who announced a huge gig were spotted playing an unassuming show in the pub that same day. The group has written more than their share of hits and even opened for Liam Gallagher a few years ago. But it seems they’re set to play a huge show of their own next year. An announcement made by the band confirmed not just a massive Finsbury Park show in London, but also a new single, and an album set for release next year. Act III, the band’s new album, will be released next year and to promote it, Kasabian appeared in a pub. Their London pub gig has gone viral, with the crowd seen jumping around to a stripped-back show from the Serge Pizzorono-fronted group. Fans have since praised the band for their small-scale show the same day as their Finsbury Park announcement. A post to X reads: “Kasabian celebrating their massive Finsbury Park show announcement with a gig in a local London pub tonight.” The band were seen playing a stripped-back version of their hit song, Fire. One person praised the performance, writing: “Serge becoming the frontman is the best thing that happened to Kasabian. His energy is just something else.” Another added: “Few bands could rock a pub like that.” While a third shared: “Acoustic Fire” followed by a face with hearts for eyes emoji. The band’s show announcement next year comes alongside the announcement of new album, Act III. A new song also released to promote Act III, with Hippie Sunshine out now. Explaining the new track Pizzorono said: “The track is about the restless energy of hyper individuals who struggle to slow down and face reality, searching instead for the illusion of escape. “It captures the fleeting moment where everything feels light and limitless, yet beneath it lies a deep sense of disconnection, something both beautiful and tragic.” The frontman, who replaced Tom Meighan in 2020, says every day is about “making magic” on the guitar. Speaking to Rolling Stone , Pizzorono confirmed it was more interesting to be in Kasabian and writing songs now than it ever has been. He shared: “Everything at this point is on pure instinct, but I’m picking up the guitar every day and it’s making magic. The guitar is a huge part of where I am at the moment. “The world just excites me, you know? I get up and I’m excited by what is possible, and I think that keeps things fresh when we’re nine albums in. “Every morning, it’s like music is fuel for me. It’s scientifically proven that it makes you feel better; it touches a part of your brain and that gets ignited when you listen to a bit of music that you love. “It really does something to you. So I’m in the business of making that with my bare hands, and that, I think, is another reason for me to just keep making music.”
