The Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite has shared the impressive amount he made on OnlyFans in less than a year.
John Whaite, who announced back in February that he would be starting an OnlyFans account featuring explicit gay content, and would be “leaving the TV industry” firmly in his past, quit the platform this month.
In an Instagram post on 16 September, Whaite revealed that his brownie business – plus his first brick and mortar store Ruff Puff Bakehouse, which opened Mawdesley in April – had given him “a true sense of purpose again”, meaning he would be departing from his stint on OnlyFans.
The following day, in a Q&A with fans on his Instagram Story, Whaite revealed that he made an impressive amount during his time on the platform.
‘I probably could have double, tripled, quadrupled that’
One fan asked: “How much money did you make (ball park) for someone who’s thinking if it’s worth it.” John responded to share that he made just under £200,000 (£199,147) in 11 months, but he claimed he could have made “quadruple”that amount if he’d dedicated more time to the site.
He shared: “This is a tricky question isn’t it, because I don’t like speaking about personal wealth and income. But it is an elephant in the room, as some people think I’ve made millions on OnlyFans and others think I made nothing.
“The truth – honestly in 11 months I took home $270,000, [£200,000] so it can be a very lucrative platform. If I had spent more time on that and more of my time solely to OnlyFans, I probably could have double, tripled, quadrupled that. It’s not just about making content, it’s about marketing and catching people’s eyes and giving them a reason to subscribe.”
In announcing his departure from OnlyFans, Whaite assured his fans that his “new chapter” was “one rooted in passion” and that he was “ready” for the new challenge.
