Bollywood’s leading music artist Badshah has voiced a heartfelt message of support for Punjab as the state faces its worst flood crisis in nearly forty years. During his live performance in Oakland, Bay Area, as part of his multi-city Unfinished Tour, he paid a powerful tribute to Punjab’s resilience. His heartfelt words turned the concert into a moving display of unity, hope, and strength. Badshah gives tribute to Punjab’s spirit Addressing his millions of followers, Badshah expressed his deep connection with Punjab and praised the spirit of Chardikala—the belief in remaining optimistic and courageous despite hardships. He passionately reminded the audience of the region’s proud history, saying, “Itihass to puchlo dasduga… Punjab kihde naal banya,” which translates to “Ask history and it will tell you who built Punjab.” Badshah further emphasised the unwavering spirit of Punjabis by saying in Hindi, “Girkar uthhte hai… uthenge… kal honsla jabardast hoga. Chardikala kya hai mere dost… kehkar nahin, karkar dikhayenge,” meaning, “Even if we fall, we rise again… tomorrow our determination will be stronger. Still, he reassured his fans and followers, stating, “We will rise again, and we will stand together.” His message served as both a reminder of the challenges ahead and a rallying call to stay strong. He added, “This is the spirit that makes Punjab eternal. No matter how deep the waters rise, our courage runs deeper. The farmers who feed our nation deserve our unwavering support, and Punjab’s Chardikala will carry us through this crisis stronger than before.” The Devastating Impact of the Floods The floods, caused by unprecedented monsoon rains in upstream areas, have impacted over 1,900 villages and claimed more than 43 lives, marking Punjab’s most severe natural disaster since 1988. Around 4.30 lakh acres of farmland have been destroyed, endangering the livelihoods of thousands of farming families who form the backbone of the region’s agricultural economy.
