Badminton Players Earn Wins In Ontario Bermuda’s young badminton players delivered strong performances on the opening day of the Victor Ontario Junior C Tournament in Markham, earning several impressive wins across multiple age divisions. A spokesperson said, “Fantastic first day at the Victor Ontario Junior C Tournament in Markham. “Our U17 boys both won their first round matches. Finn Peters in a close fought match 22-20,21-16. Michael Mohipp with a comfortable 21-10, 21-5 win. The U15 boys, James Bigley had an epic first round win in 3 matches 16-21, 21-18, 21-18. “JitHom Liew lost his first match but then advanced to the quarter finals of the consolation tournament. Amazing wins, 21-19, 18-21,21-14 and in the next round 21-19, 22-20. “Our U19 boys faced older competitors and lost their first round matches but both Aaron Lee and Joseph Lau advanced to the quarter finals of the consolation tournament with close fought 3 set matches along the way. They lost to the finalists of the tournament. “Our girls faced high quality opposition and showed improvement and determination throughout their games. So impressed with all the players.
