EXCLUSIVE: Apple TV has brought on three more for recurring roles in the second season of its comedy Bad Monkey, starring and executive produced by Vince Vaughn: Brent Morin (Merry Happy Whatever), Peter Billingsley (Iron Man), and June Diane Raphael (Weapons). No word yet on roles to be played by the trio. The show’s Season 2 cast will also include returning stars Natalie Martinez, Charlotte Lawrence, and John Ortiz, alongside new additions John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski, Zavior Phillips, and Nate Jackson. Based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel, Bad Monkey‘s second season will be based on a new original story. The first season introduced viewers to Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs—and one bad monkey. Hailing from Warner Bros. Television, the show was developed by executive producer and showrunner Bill Lawrence through his Doozer Productions. Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses (Scrubs), Vaughn, Liza Katzer, and Adam Sztykiel are also executive producers. An actor and stand-up who starred in NBC’s sitcom Undateable, executive produced by Lawrence, Morin also starred opposite Dennis Quaid in Netflix’s holiday comedy series Merry Happy Whatever. He released his comedy special I’m Brent Morin with Netflix and has also appeared in the films How to Be Single and Yes Day, as well as on Chelsea Lately, Conan, Comedy Central, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The McCarthys, and Ground Floor. He is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, CAA, and Felker Toczek. One of Vaughn’s partners in Wild West Picture Show Productions, Billingsley has been working in entertainment for four decades. He previously directed Vaughn in the 2009 comedy Couples Retreat. Billingsley began his acting career at the age of three, becoming a pop culture icon with his role as Ralphie in A Christmas Story, and has gone on to earn a Tony Award nomination and three Emmy nominations. He is repped by UTA and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman. Recently seen in Zach Cregger’s New Line horror hit Weapons, Raphael can currently be seen on Apple TV’s The Morning Show and ABC’s 9-1-1. Upcoming, she has Amazon MGM’s Legally Blonde prequel series Elle, as well as Netflix’s adult animated series Mating Season. She’s also developing two series as co-creator and star: the multi-cam Something Wicked with Dickinson creator Alena Smith at NBC, and the docu-style series Unlikely with Supergirl‘s Anna Musky-Goldwyn. Additionally, Amazon MGM has ordered a pilot for Dinks, an improvised multi-cam comedy where she executive produces and stars opposite husband Paul Scheer. She is repped by Mgmt Entertainment, UTA, and Ziffren Brittenham.
