Babyshambles has released the band’s first single in more than a decade. The popular English rock band dropped “Dandy Hooligan” on Wednesday, Nov. 5 through singer Peter Doherty’s record label, Strap Originals. “Dandy Hooligan” is a ska and reggae-inspired track that distinguishes itself from Babyshambles signature indie rock sound as heard on past hits such as “Killamangiro” and “Delivery.” The new single marks the band’s first release since 2013 when Babyshambles released their third studio album, “Sequel to Prequel.” “Looking forward to playing this one up and down the country,” the band wrote in an Instagram post. “Dandy Hooligan,” and its accompanying music video, arrive after Babyshambles formally announced the band’s 2025 UK reunion tour on Sept. 1. The tour marks their first in more than a decade and comes after the death of guitarist Patrick Walden, who died in June at the age of 46. “The death of Patrick (Walden) made us determined that we have to tour now,” Doherty told Far Out Magazine in September. “It’s unfinished business and everywhere I go I get ‘what’s happening with the ‘shambles.’ It’s a no brainer for me, a real desire to play some of them old tunes and have a little shindig.” The 17-date tour is set to kick off Nov. 13th in Coventry and end Dec. 15 in London. Tickets can be purchased through Babyshambles’ website.
