DEERFIELD, IL – The Hellenic American Academy hosted the 2025 Ellinomatheia Certificate of Attainment in Greek Award Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of 158 students from across the Midwest who earned Certificates of Attainment in Greek at levels A1 through C2. Students who achieve Level B1 or higher are eligible to present their certificate to their high schools to receive the Seal of Biliteracy upon graduation — a recognition that honors proficiency in two or more languages. The Greek language, with its profound historical roots and continued vitality within the global diaspora, serves as a powerful bridge between cultures. Through the study of Greek, students not only gain linguistic skills but also connect with a living tradition that continues to shape global thought, culture, and identity. As the official examination center for the Midwest region, the Hellenic American Academy is accredited by the Greek Ministry of Education, and the Center for the Greek Language to administer the Ellinomatheia Exams.
