An Australian man’s video praising the city of Patna, Bihar for its friendliness, cleanliness, and ongoing infrastructural development has gone viral on social media. In his video, he also called out other travel vloggers for posting “ragebait” content about India — often portraying it as “dirty.” His remarks have sparked a debate online. The video was shared on Instagram by a user identified as @fozziebhai. While roaming around Bihar, he said, “It’s actually a very friendly city. I had the camera off for about 10 minutes from the last little block of footage. But yeah man, people are friendly here, and you know what else as well? It’s actually quite clean. The infrastructure is obviously going through development — that’s quite obvious — but you’ll notice that the development is currently ongoing, yet the streets are kept very, very clean. Yes, there’s obviously an emphasis on cleanliness in the city. But people are quite friendly.” In the clip, he’s also seen interacting warmly with locals, who respond with equal enthusiasm. The video was captioned, “Is India really as dirty as the ragebait travel vloggers would have you believe? As someone who lived and breathed India for almost two years, I can tell you it’s just not as black and white as other foreigners depict to the masses.” A text overlay in the video reads, “Patna, Bihar is not what Desis made it out to be!” His post has since sparked discussions online. One user wrote, “At this point, I’ve seen foreigners appreciate Bihar more than our own people. Kind of ironic, huh.” Another commented, “Hey bro, thanks for showing the real India.” A third added, “That’s what I’ve noticed — tier-2 cities in India are cleaner than tier-1 cities.
