The star shares all. Don’t look back in anger... if you rented out your home to a famous rocker and they didn’t leave it in the state that you handed it over to them in. That’s the advice fitness influencer and former Bachelor, Sam Wood, is being given after renting his Melbourne family home out to British rockers, Oasis, during their recent stint in his home state. During an appearance Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, Sam, 45, addressed the long-standing rumours that he had rented out his Mornington Peninsula home to frontman Liam Gallagher and his fiancé during their Aussie tour. Sam and Snezana Wood didn’t want to rent out their home... until Oasis came knocking. Picture: Fiona Hamilton Oasis singer Liam Gallagher stayed at Sam’s home in Melbourne during their Aussie tour. Picture by Damian Shaw The conversation began when co-host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli admitted to tracking down the 28 by Sam Wood founder to clarify what actually went on in his home. “We’re trying to get to the bottom of why the Gallagher Brothers ended up at Sam Woods house in Mount Martha in beachside Victoria. We tracked him down...” Wippa said, before launching into his question about the rumours. “Yeah, it’s pretty random, it’s very cool, but it’s very random. So strange,” Sam answered, admitting the whole situation is out of the ordinary for him, his wife Snezana Wood and their four daughters. “We’ve never rented our house out before, and got a call from a mate who’s been trying to sort of pester me to rent it out. And he goes, ‘Look, I know you said no, but this might change your mind’. And he said ‘We think it’s Oasis, and they want to stay there for six nights.’” Copied URL to clipboard Sydney Oasis fans wait in massive queues to get into show Concertgoers wait for over an hour to get into Accor staduim, nearly missing... Sam said his initial response was: “You are bloody kidding me” but he didn’t hesitate in handing over the keys. “It was Liam and his fiancé, and they’ve left their ice cream in the fridge and books on the mantelpiece, and they signed a couple of posters for me. And it’s very, very cool,” Sam added. Sharing that the ice-cream left behind was a good old “Peter’s Vanilla”, Sam went on to share how Liam and his crew - reportedly including his two sons - used their time in his home as an opportunity to blend in like the locals. “Apparently, he went down for a little dip in the bay, and he was seen at the little Mount Martha Village IGA, just buying some ice cream,” Sam shared. “My mate’s mum lives in Mount Martha, and we were away because they were staying there and he said, mate Liam Gallagher is in the Mount Martha IGA. And I said, ‘you want to know a little secret?’ And he said, ‘What?’ And I said, he’s at our house. “He thought I was taking the piss.” Oasis performing at Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park. One of the many sellout concerts in Australia. Picture by Damian Shaw Leaning in to the topic of how they would treat the place, Kate joined in with comments about how she wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about what they were doing in her home. Sam confessed the house was very well lived in - perhaps even a little too much. “The recycling bin was chockers! They’ve had a good crack on, on one of the nights after one of the concerts,” he admitted. “He’d been in my gym…there were a few bits of equipment in sort of weird spots. I don’t know what exercises they’d been doing, but there was some wacky sort of setups left! I went through a workout on Sunday, and realised he’d been here doing something!” Sam Wood has invited many of his fans into his home with easy family-friendly workouts. Picture: Instagram / Sam Wood Aussie fans have been pouring in to stadiums for Oasis’ long-awaited reunion on our shores. The dose of nostalgia has left many claiming it to be the “best concert” they’ve ever been to, with brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher living up to their every bit of expectations.
