The Cuban Foreign Ministry announced on Friday the death of US citizen and fugitive Joanne Deborah Byron, better known as “Assata Shakur.”
Assata Shakur, a Black Liberation Army member who was convicted in the 1973 murder of a New Jersey state trooper, has died at the age of 78. Assata Shakur died in Cuba where she fled, according to Cuban officials, reports ABC News. The Cuban Foreign Ministry announced on Friday the death of US citizen and fugitive Joanne Deborah Byron, better known as “Assata Shakur.” Shakur was on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist list.
