Assam Man Extorts Rs 12 Lakh From Woman He Met On PUBG, Puts Her Under House Arrest

A woman is under house arrest by a man she met while playing PUBG. Identified as Sonia Sharma, the woman met Jameer Pasha in 2022.
Pasha owns a mobile shop in the Kolar district of Assam, and the duo had been living together. However, the relationship soured as they started having a dispute over financial matters.
The man recorded a private video with Sonia and started blackmailing her for money. He reportedly also received more than Rs 12 lakh from her. He then placed her under house arrest.
However, Sonia escaped from his house on Wednesday night and sought help from the locals and contacted the police. A complaint has been filed in the matter at the Bangarupet police station in Kolar.

In a separate incident of blackmailing, a woman blackmailed her colleague, threatening to leak his intimate photos on her phone.
The incident took place after the man was left depressed following disputes in his marriage. Ankita allegedly offered to “heal” him with Reiki therapy. She first demanded Rs 1 lakh for treatment, which the complainant paid. She then suggested him a trip to Goa saying the natural environment would boost recovery.
In Goa, she took her intimate photos and threatened to leak the photos to his wife unless he invested in a film project she was pushing.
Fearing exposure, the man arranged Rs 12.5 lakh through his firm’s proprietor. Ankita even signed a promissory note acknowledging the payment.
As the threats continued, he also paid an additional amount of Rs 3 lakh.
