Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: Paramount Chiefs of Aflao and Oguaa Affirm Solidarity with Asantehene

Joining the Manhyia Palace to mourn the demise of the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, on Wednesday were Torgbui Ga Adzonuegaga Ameyra Fiti, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Council, and Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Council.

Alongside a large entourage, the traditional rulers respectively affirmed their solidarity with the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

They were among a tall list of traditional leaders who graced the third day’s burial rites at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Other attendees for the day included Deputy Eswatini Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla, President of the National House of Chiefs Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II and Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene.

The carefully planned burial rites, which started on September 15 with a series of activities, will come to an end on September 18.

Her Majesty will be buried on the last day at Breman Baamu.

Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.

A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
