Ghanaian spiritual leader Nana Kwaku Bonsam’s presence at the Manyia Palace for Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s funeral on September 15, 2025, has courted attention online.

The renowned spiritualist arrived at the palace on the back of a brown horse. Scores of mourners had gathered to pay their last respects.

On the back of the horse, Kwaku Bonsam displayed his signature dance moves to announce the presence of his deities.

He wore a special batakari with several live birds hanging loose from his outfit. The birds, believed to be doves, flapped their wings as Kwaku Bonsam bounced repeatedly during his ritual dancing.

Speaking to Lawson FM, Nana Kwaku Bonsam confirmed that his outfit was specially tailored for Asantehemaa’s week-long funeral from Monday, September 15, 2025, to Thursday, September 18, 2025.

While dancing, the traditionalist threw into the crowd, causing commotion as he sped off with the horse.

“Why don’t Asanteman use that same energy to fight galamsey? First of all, where is this happening? Where in Kumasi is galamsey going on? Someone is in Tepa dey do Galamsey, you sey make Kumasi people go stop them, while the government and the military can’t stop it. Really?”
