Mumbai (Maharashtra): The premiere of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, turned into one of the most glittering nights of the year on Wednesday as celebrities, industry leaders, and close friends arrived in style to celebrate the Netflix series ahead of its global release on September 18. The red carpet at the star-studded event saw the who’s who of Bollywood, with family, friends, and well-wishers showing support for the young filmmaker.
Ambanis and Khans add grandeur
The evening began with the arrival of the Ambani family. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, accompanied by wife Nita Ambani, son Akash Ambani and wife Shloka Mehta, daughter Isha Ambani, and daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant, made a powerful entry, dressed in elegant ensembles.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, father of Aryan Khan, arrived with his wife Gauri Khan and children Suhana and AbRam, lending the evening an emotional touch. Aryan joined them for a family photo that drew cheers from fans and photographers. Shah Rukh Khan was seen warmly interacting with the media, while Aryan was spotted capturing candid moments of his father on his phone.
Bollywood stars bring glamour
The red carpet witnessed some of the biggest names in Bollywood. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, dressed in matching white outfits, turned heads with their elegant looks. Madhuri Dixit arrived with her husband Dr Shriram Nene, while Bobby Deol, who plays a central role in the series, walked in with wife Tanya Deol and son Aryaman.
Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and designer Manish Malhotra were among the early arrivals, joined later by celebrities including Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Khushi Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Tamannaah Bhatia, Jackky Bhagnani, and Mira Rajput. The event also saw Sussanne Khan with Arslan Goni, Chunky Panday with Bhavana Pandey, and members of the Kapoor family including Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Arhaan Khan, and Nirvaan Khan.
Filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Zoya Akhtar added further weight to the evening’s guest list.
Cast and crew in full attendance
The entire cast of The Ba**ds of Bollywood* assembled on the red carpet, including Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Rajat Bedi, and others. Aryan Khan, who has written and directed the series, joined the team for a group photo, underscoring their excitement before the official release.
Earlier in the evening, filmmaker Karan Johar shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, praising Aryan’s determination and hard work over the last two years. Farah Khan too expressed her affection with a candid note calling Aryan “the kindest, sweetest, talented and most hardworking director” she had worked with.
About the Netflix series
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the seven-episode series follows the story of Aasmaan Singh (played by Lakshya), an ambitious newcomer navigating the highs and lows of fame. With his best friend Parvaiz (Raghav Juyal) and manager Sanya (Anya Singh) by his side, Aasmaan’s journey into Bollywood is filled with glamour, rivalries, and scandals.
The story introduces him to superstar Ajay Talvar, played by Bobby Deol, and his daughter Karishma, played by Sahher Bambba. Aasmaan’s career faces turbulence with rumours of underworld connections and high-stakes rivalries. The official trailer, spanning three minutes and twenty-eight seconds, teased an engaging mix of ambition, betrayal, and drama set against the backdrop of Bollywood.
Family’s strong support
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s presence at both the trailer launch and premiere reflected their strong support for Aryan’s debut. Suhana Khan, who is making her own mark as an actor, and AbRam Khan too joined their brother, adding to the emotional significance of the evening.
