Arsenal sitting on £152m goldmine as Mikel Arteta impact clear for two players

Arsenal boast two of the world's seven most valuable teenagers in world football in Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, according to a recent statistical model. Barcelona , Chelsea , and Real Madrid are the other clubs with multiple players in the top 10. The Blues have Estevao and Geovany Quenda, the latter of whom they agreed to sign last summer. Lamine Yamal tops the list with a staggering value exceeding £300million, while Estevao ranks second at just over £100million. Yamal's teammate, Pau Cubarsi, is next at £99m, with Madrid's Franco Mastantuono fourth at £90m. Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery comes in at £81m for sixth, just above both Arsenal academy graduates. Nwaneri ranks higher with a value of £77m, which is £2m more than his team-mate Lewis-Skelly. This means the pair are worth a whopping £152m to Arsenal. Max Dowman does not feature on the list of 113 teenagers with an estimated value of at least £8.8million already. However, no one younger than 17 years old is included, with Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha the youngest listed. Dowman does not turn 16 until New Year's Eve. As for the pair who do feature, Lewis-Skelly remains 19 until September next year, while Nwaneri will still be in his teens until March 2027. They have combined to make 99 appearances for the first team. That total won't reach a century until after the international break, though, as neither came on as a substitute against Sunderland in the 2-2 draw on Saturday evening. The figures come from the International Centre for Sports Studies' Football Observatory and its statistical model. A study in the International Journal of Financial Studies reveals it draws from a sample of 8,389 permanent transfers, involving 6,347 players, that occurred between July 2014 and March 2024. Bournemouth , Brighton and Hove Albion, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are the only Premier League clubs with more players on the list than Arsenal. Marc Guiu, Jorrel Hato and Josh Acheampong join Estevao and Quenda on the list for Chelsea. Spurs, meanwhile, have Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Mikey Moore, the latter of whom is on loan at Rangers. Brighton boast Charalampos Kostoulas, Malick Yalcin, and Stefanos Tzimas, while the Cherries have Ben Gannon-Doak, Eli Junior Kroupi, and Veljko Milosavljevic. Arsenal, however, are the only English club with multiple academy graduates on the list - and both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly have been handed opportunities in the first team by Arteta. Of those mentioned, Acheampong and Moore are the only ones to come through their club's academy. Mikel Arteta said in the summer that the club "want to get as much talent as we possibly can from the academy and bring it up to the first team". He explained: "The way they adapt at that age, I could not do - but I think this generation goes faster. "They are ready a little bit earlier. We don't have to rush. Make sure we manage the right steps and the right expectations for all of them, and then let's see what they demand."
