Armed police response in pictures as Glasgow street 'disturbance' leaves man in hospital

This is the scene where armed police raced to a ‘disturbance’ which left a man in hospital on Friday. Emergency crews were called out to Ballantay Road in Castlemilk, Glasgow, at around 1.40pm on Friday, September 19.

The 53-year-old man was taken to hospital to hospital for treatment. Multiple police units rushed to the scene including specialist armed cops.

Eyewitnesses told how around half a dozen police vehicles descended on the street. Pictures from the scene show uniformed officers and specialist gun cops responding to the incident as the area was sealed off.

Armed officers were spotted in surrounding gardens. Other images show police tape stretched across the residential street as horrified locals watched on.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record: “We were called to a report of a disturbance on Ballantay Road, Castlemilk, around 1.40pm on Friday, 19 September, 2025. Emergency services attended, and a 53-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 40-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man have been arrested and charged in connection, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Enquiries are ongoing.”
