Arlington Mayor Jim Ross to Unveil City Achievements and Future Plans at State of the City Address

Arlington Mayor Jim Ross is set to paint a picture of the city’s triumphs and plans at the upcoming State of the City Address. It’s happening on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Arlington Expo Center. In his talk, he’ll delve into topics ranging from economic development to public safety and downtown growth, sharing his vision for the community’s future – with a focus on recent successes.

Mayor Ross, now deep into his second term, will also dish out the 4th annual Mayor’s American Dream Award. Past honorees, as briefed by the City of Arlington, include Carolyn Mentesana of Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, Green Oaks School’s Jean Jewell, and City Manager Trey Yelverton.

The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce will host the ticketed event, which will also be broadcast for the wider audience on the City of Arlington’s Facebook page. The session’s not just for speeches, though; it’s also a moment to celebrate the 2025 Small Business of the Year winners, like Wade Funeral Home & Crematory and other community standouts, honored for their contributions to Arlington’s tapestry.
