Lossburg, Germany – In October 2025, Arburg was awarded gold by Ecovadis for the third time. Only two to five per cent of the world’s most sustainable industrial companies receive this award. The machine manufacturer from Lossburg in the northern Black Forest has improved in all categories compared to the previous year – from a total of 78 to 83 points – and is now among the top two per cent of the more than 100,000 companies assessed. Ecovadis is a comprehensive sustainability platform for global supply chains and assesses more than 100,000 companies in four areas: Environment, sustainable procurement, ethics, as well as labour and human rights. “We have been comprehensively addressing the issues of the environment and sustainability for decades. Despite all the current economic challenges, we remain committed to promoting sustainable technologies”, emphasizes Managing Partner Michael Hehl, who is responsible for plant development. “Last year, we again made significant progress and set ourselves ambitious goals for the future”. Juliane Hehl, Managing Partner Global Marketing and Business Development, adds: “The arburgGREENworld program brings together everything related to sustainability. This includes comprehensive activities for greater production and resource efficiency as well as circular economy. We publish the relevant figures, data and facts transparently in our comprehensive annual sustainability report on our website”. Clear strategies and ambitious goals – As a European manufacturer of injection molding machines, Arburg has set itself validated climate targets in line with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The company is pursuing ambitious goals to reduce its absolute level of greenhouse gas emissions and has committed to achieving net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. Ever since 2021, as part of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the corporate carbon footprint (CCF) has been determined. Here, Arburg is classified with a “B” rating. This means that it performs above average in terms of climate protection, ecology and CO2 emissions when compared to other mechanical engineering companies.
