Baghdad, October 26 (QNA) - The Arab Media Forum 2025 kicked off on Sunday in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, with broad participation from officials and intellectuals from Iraq and various Arab countries. In a statement, Iraq's Communications and Media Commission (CMC) explained that participants in the panel discussions addressed the challenges facing national media in shaping Iraq's image abroad, as well as countering misinformation, smear campaigns, and blackmail targeting Arab societies. During the opening of the forum, Chairman of CMC, Nawfal Abu Ragheef, emphasized that media today serves as a compass for public opinion and a ceiling of responsibility amid rapid digital transformations. He called for a conscious partnership that preserves the balance between freedom and discipline, and for the drafting of a unified charter outlining the principles and values of Arab media, one that fosters a professional environment based on mutual respect and rejects hate speech and misinformation.
