Apple has finally launched the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max at its Awe Dropping event. Both phones run on the new A19 Pro chip and come with better battery life and improved cameras. They feature a fresh aluminium unibody design and for the first time, Ceramic Shield protects both the front and back. Apple claims the rear Ceramic Shield is four times stronger against cracks than the glass used in earlier iPhones. Alongside the phones, Apple also announced new accessories like TechWoven and Silicone cases, MagSafe-supported Clear Cases, and even a new Crossbody Strap. On the display side, the iPhone 17 Pro comes in a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR screen, while the Pro Max offers a 6.9-inch display. Both support ProMotion 120Hz, Always-On Display and 3000 nits peak brightness, making them the brightest iPhones ever. For the first time, Ceramic Shield 2 protects both front and back, with 3x better scratch resistance and 4x better crack resistance than older models. Cameras get a massive jump this year. Both models feature a triple 48MP Fusion camera system — Main, Ultra-Wide, and a Telephoto lens. The Telephoto brings 8x optical-quality zoom at 200mm, along with 4x optical zoom at 100mm for portraits. Digital zoom now goes up to 40x. On the front, there’s a new 18MP Center Stage camera with a wider field of view, AI-powered auto adjustment, and support for Dual Capture, letting users record simultaneously with front and rear cameras. For video creators, Apple has added ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, Dolby Vision HDR, 4K120fps recording, and even genlock support for professional multi-camera setups. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max come with a larger body that fits a bigger battery. Apple claims this gives the best battery life ever on an iPhone. They also support fast charging with Apple’s new 40W adapter (sold separately), which can charge the phone up to 50 per cent in just 20 minutes.
