The report does not mention the following, but it is possible that Apple chose both companies because they might have provided the vapor chambers found in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The industry appears to be optimistic that after Apple brings vapor chamber cooling to its high-end tablets, it will eventually branch this upgrade out to the less expensive models, bringing a massive business opportunity for China and Taiwan to capitalize on. The current 11-inch and 13-inch M5 iPad Pro models likely rely on graphite sheets to dissipate heat, but these are no match for vapor chambers.
