Each year, Forbes and Statista ask nearly 20,000 veterans working at large U.S. companies to rate their employers. The 2025 rankings were released today, with Apple climbing quite significantly compared to last year. Apple places 18th, well above past years As Forbes explains it: “Our nation’s veterans are among the strongest and most agile workers in the United States. Known for their leadership skills, ability to work diligently under pressure and talent for creative problem-solving, U.S. veterans are typically invaluable additions to any company. But veterans can also be vulnerable to setbacks when transitioning into civilian jobs. It’s often difficult for veterans to match their unique skills to roles in corporate America. It can also be a challenge for veterans to overcome the stigma that sometimes accompanies service-related injuries or disabilities.” For this reason, for the past six years, Forbes and Statista have been looking at companies that attract and retain veterans, with initiatives that include skills development, health benefits, housing assistance, and more. After surveying veterans, Forbes and Statista compare current and past results to assemble its final ranking, comprising “the 150 companies with the highest scores”. Last year, Apple ranked 36th, which was quite an improvement from its 68th ranking in 2022. For the 2025 list, Apple ranked 18th, ahead of IBM (27th), Meta (28th), and Amazon (82nd), but behind Google (2nd) and Microsoft (5th). Apple offers a Veterans and Military Purchase Program, which gives a 10% discount to “current and Veteran members of the US Military, National Guard and Reserve” and their immediate family members.
