Now, it’s a whole different story, because Amazon has taken off an impressive $141 from the higher storage variant’s total, bringing the 16GB unified RAM and 1TB SSD model down to $1,658. Gaming performance also experiences a significant leap because the SoC is 190 percent faster than the M4 in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing enabled. Apple has also been kind enough to ramp up the SSD speeds on the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro, with a previous comparison against the base M4 MacBook Pro revealing a whopping 211 percent difference in read and write speeds. Aside from these performance bumps, you still get that gorgeous 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display that supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate, plus a unibody aluminum chassis that will last you for years. Unfortunately, what won’t last is this attractive discount from Amazon, and sadly, we cannot confirm if this $141 price cut will be retained during Black Friday, so the prudent thing to do is to grab one of these M5 MacBook Pro units to avoid any regrets later on.
