Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals opens facility on Greams Road

Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, the Apollo Hospitals Group’s chain of precision Ayurveda hospitals, inaugurated its flagship 35-bed facility on Greams Road on Monday. The centre, which was inaugurated by Prathap C. Reddy, founder-chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, expands the group’s integrated healthcare ecosystem from its Greams Road campus. The hospital seeks to strengthen the role of precision ayurveda — an evidence-based, clinically governed system of care designed to work in complement with modern medicine. The hospital will offer in-patient and out-patient services for a wide range of conditions including orthopaedic, neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic and respiratory illnesses, women’s health, paediatric developmental disorders, chronic wounds, ano-rectal conditions, sports injuries, and dermatological issues. Speaking at the inauguration,Karen Sternfeld, a multiple sclerosis patient and Team USA para-archer, shared her experience of receiving therapy at Apollo AyurVAID. A wheelchair user, she spoke about how the care she received, coordinated across specialties, helped her manage her condition and improve mobility. She expressed hope of returning to the Paralympics 2028. Susmitha Chandran, primary physician and medical superintendent, Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, spoke on the importance of rehabilitative healthcare, stressing the need for long-term, multidisciplinary support for patients with chronic and degenerative conditions. Rajiv Vasudevan, managing director and CEO, Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, outlined the facility’s focus on integrative healthcare — a model that combines the precision of Ayurveda with the scientific rigour of modern medicine. He said the approach emphasised “whole health” by addressing not only the symptoms but also the root causes of diseases, supporting prevention, recovery, and sustained wellbeing. The facility will also feature the ‘Tested Safe’ AyurVAID range of classical Ayurveda medicines, medical foods, and OTC formulations, all of which undergo rigorous testing, with safety reports accessible via QR codes. Preetha Reddy, executive vice-chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited, were among those present.
