2020 was a year that our community will never forget. For me, the memories of that year are more than just the pandemic. Five people I was close with were told, “You have breast cancer”…including my mom.
Every year in Minnesota, there are about 4,800 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed among women.

My mom called me on a cold, February day in 2020, and I could hear in her voice that something was wrong. She tore her Achilles tendon and needed surgery, but before that could happen, she had to have a pre-surgical physical. It was time for her mammogram as well, so that was one of the sets of images they took prior to surgery.
That specific mammogram saved my mom’s life.
During the month of October, our world turns pink to show support for all who have heard the words “breast cancer”. And one special event in Rochester, Minnesota, is providing that for all of us…and has some amazing swag for breast cancer survivors!
