AP Dussehra School Holidays 2025 Dates Revised, Schools to Reopen on Oct 3

Andhra Pradesh schools will observe Dussehra holidays from Monday, September 22, 2025. The schools are being closed for a total of 11 days. All the government as well as private schools across the state will now reopen on October 3. The Dussehra holidays were first planned from September 24 to October 2. This gave students and teachers a nine-day break. However, the teachers asked for the holidays to start earlier. They said they needed more time to prepare for the festival. The government agreed and added three extra days, and now, the holidays will last for a total of twelve days. Cabinet Minister in Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh Nara took to platform X to announce the same. The post reads, “TDP Graduate MLCs have brought to my attention that teachers are requesting Dussehra holidays for schools starting from the 22nd of this month. Following their request, we have discussed with the education department officials and made a decision. It has been decided to grant Dussehra festival holidays from the 22nd of this month until October 2.” Telangana Dussehra Holidays Announced for Schools, Junior Colleges The Telangana government has announced holidays for Dussehra for schools and junior colleges. The schools will have 13 days of holidays, and junior colleges will get 8 days of holidays. However, this time, the holidays are shorter because of the academic workload and syllabus. Schools will begin their holidays on Sunday, September 21, 2025, and reopen on Saturday, October 4, 2025. This gives students a total break of 13 days. Junior colleges will start their holidays on September 28, 2025, and reopen on October 6, 2025, providing an 8-day break for students. After the break, junior college students will have less time to prepare for their half-yearly exams. The exams will now be conducted between November 10 and November 15, 2025.
