Rishabh Pant seemingly suffered an injury scare on the third day of the unofficial Test match between India A and South Africa A as he was forced to retire hurt. The India A captain was hit thrice in a span of 20 minutes. He continued to play after two blows but was unable to continue the third one. Pant stayed in the dressing room even as India lost a wicket. Pant suffered the first blow when a bouncer hit him on his helmet. He had to undergo the mandatory concussion test. He suffered the second blow when a ball hit him on his elbow. Pant suffered another blow soon and decided to walk off. Following Kuldeep Yadav's dismissal, the team management sent Harsh Dubey instead of the captain. He has joined Dhruv Jurel. Pant has made his return to the Test team and is confirmed to be part of the final XI in both games against South Africa. The Indian team management will hope that he is fit and available for the series.
