Snow guns are running on multiple Colorado mountains, a sign that ski season is fast approaching. Another harbinger is that the annual ski movies are coming soon to a theater or brewpub near you. Teton Gravity Research’s “Pressure Drop,” which celebrates 30 years of TGR films, will be shown Oct. 25 at Wibby Brewing in Longmont. The 76th film from Boulder-based Warren Miller Entertainment, “Sno-Ciety,” which includes a segment shot at Denver’s Ruby Hill Rail Yard terrain park, will have five shows at the Boulder Theater Nov. 13-15, and three shows at Denver’s Paramount Theater, Nov. 21-22. “After the Snowfall,” produced by Crested Butte-based Matchstick Productions, will be shown Nov. 6 at Wood Boss Brewing in Denver. The Warren Miller film, which debuted last weekend in Salt Lake City, includes segments shot in Mammoth, Calif., British Columbia, Scotland, Finland, Steamboat Springs and at last year’s world alpine ski championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria. The segment shot at Ruby Hill runs more than nine minutes, focusing on fun and inclusivity. Watch the trailer here. The Matchstick Productions film includes segments shot at Arapahoe Basin, Steamboat, British Columbia, Alaska, Norway and Japan. Watch the trailer here. The TGR film takes viewers to Norway, Alaska, British Columbia, Palisades Tahoe in California and TGR’s home base, Jackson Hole, Wyo. Watch the trailer here. Colorado ski areas currently engaged in snowmaking operations include Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, Vail and Beaver Creek.
