A man in Andhra Pradesh, who has two wives, assaulted his first wife over suspicion of “infidelity”. The incident occurred on September 13 and the accused is absconding. The police has launched a manhunt.
As per the police, the accused, Balraju, tied his wife to a wooden pole and assaulted her in their village in Prakasam district.
The incident came to light on Tuesday when Balraju, who stays with his second wife, came to his village where his first wife lives and tortured her.
“Balraju tied and tortured his first wife Bhagyamma at Tarlupadu mandal in Prakasam district after suspecting her infidelity,” the official told PTI.
Police stated that Balraju was suffering from a health issue and had sought treatment at a private hospital. He had asked Bhagyamma to bring money for his medical expenses, along with their children.
Bhagyamma refused, stating that she was the sole caretaker of their four children and could not part with money. Enraged by this, Balraju tied his wife to a wooden pole and brutally assaulted her.
The entire incident was recorded and the video went viral, said police.
Balraju suspected Bhagyamma of having an affair, which led to the assault, the official stated.
The accused is currently absconding, and a case has been registered under Section 85 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Gurugram Man Stabs Wife
A man was arrested by Gurugram police for allegedly stabbing his 30-year-old wife to death. Shockingly, this man attacked his wife in the middle of the road in Sector 15 on Saturday morning. The reason was domestic dispute.
An FIR was registered at the Civil Lines police station, said police.
The accused has been identified as Karan Singh (37), a native of the Atrai village in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district. He was currently living in Delhi’s Pitampura area, while his wife and children were staying in a rented accommodation in Patel Nagar, Gurugram.
According to the complaint filed by the brother of the deceased woman, her husband used to beat her every day. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Civil Lines police station, and the accused was arrested within hours, said the police.
