Analysts predict how many copies Battlefield 6 will sell at launch (it’s alright)

EA aims to reach 100 million players for Battlefield 6, but analysts predict that may be a challenge. According to The Game Business, Analyst group Ampere has looked into Battlefield 6’s highly anticipated launch to provide us with an estimated amount of sales. Firstly, Ampere believes that 1.7 million gamers have already pre-ordered the game on Steam and that 22 million played the beta. Going by usual patterns, Ampere thinks less than a quarter would pick up the game at launch. If this hasn’t gone down due to the announcement that EA has been purchased by Saudi Arabia, Ampere believes 5 million copies will be sold at Battlefield 6’s launch. Will Battlefield 6 make it to 100 million sales? Image credit: EA Battlefield 6 has some battles ahead of it if it plans to reach 100 million sales. First, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is also coming. In fact, it’ll be released a month after Battlefield 6. With both games promising a more serious and immersive war-like experience, some gamers may have to pick between the two. While CoD may lose some loyalists due to Microsoft’s continued price hikes, but the franchise has always been more commercially successful than Battlefield in the past. Second, Battlefield 6 won’t be on Game Pass. For those that kept their subscriptions, they will probably just opt for Black Ops 7. Or another game altogether. Third, Battlefield 6 is not coming out on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, meaning only thsoe on newer gen consoles can play. This will obviously reduce the player count. Fourth, many people are likely boycotting EA games after the company was sold to Saudi Arabia. The country has been on a roll, buying basically any gaming and esports product it can get its hands on. The gaming community has found this infuriating and has already condemned EA for being a “sell-out.” Fifth, the 100 million player goal is just ridiculous. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 had 33.7 million players in its first month. Ever since, it’s been declining quite rapidly. Right now, there are over 57,000 active players. We don’t know the sales of Black Ops 6, but the total Call of Duty franchise has reached 500 million sales. Yet EA believes Battlefield 6 can get 100 million on its own… Alright. I don’t think it takes an analyst to know that’s silly.
